To make the lamp stand out, I added a light-colored base and a bright color (green) on the lampshade, but made the shade translucent. It’s very easy to replicate this look, which was the challenge in my case. I used a white, glass-framed picture frame and applied clear matte vinyl to the frame with a heat gun. Then I added a piece of cardboard and a light bulb to the frame. The cardboard was added to the frame first so the vinyl would stick well to it. Once I was happy with how it looked, I attached the light bulb to the frame using a small piece of double-sided foam tape.
